Distil Networks grabs $10M in new funding to help mitigate bots and malware

DistilNetworks screenshotDistil Networks, an online bot detection and mitigation startup, has landed $10 million in Series A funding. Investors in this new round include Foundry Group, Bullet Time Ventures, ff Venture Capital, IDEA Fund Partners and Militello Capital. The Arlington, Virginia-based company offers Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for website owners that is focused on stopping automated bots, malware and web/data scraping.

Distil was founded in 2011 by Rami EssaidEngin AkyolAndrew Stein and Sean Harmer. As part of the new investment, Ryan McIntyre of Foundry Group and Bullet Time Ventures’ David Cohen will join its board of directors.
