Kontakt.io raises $2M for its interactive location-based tech

Krakow, Poland-based micro-location technology startup Kontakt.io has secured $2 million in new venture funding from Sunstone Capital. Originally built to help the visually impaired navigate public areas, the company offers beacon device hardware, backend, and software—including an open API and SDKs, basically offering a comprehensive platform for micro-location based applications.

It was founded in 2013 by Szymon Niemczura, and the team previously raised $250,000 in Seed funding.
