Retail tech startup iuzeit debuts online review aggregator at TechCrunch Disrupt

iuzeits’s beta launch of product review site marks beginning of second funding round

DALLASiuzeit, an aggregator of online product reviews, made its debut with the beta launch of its site at this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt event in San Francisco. The site (iuzeit.com), which is now available to beta testers, brings together product reviews from multiple trusted sources so users can research, review, compare and select products all in one place.

“I saw the need for iuzeit in the marketplace when a recent phone purchase became incredibly tedious,” said iuzeit founder and CEO Yogi Patel. “The information I wanted wasn’t available from certain retailers, reviews were spread out across multiple sites and there was no way to compare information easily. After realizing how difficult and time consuming it was to research the product—and how many consumers face this issue on a regular basis—I knew I had to solve this problem.”

iuzeit’s mission is to bring complete transparency into online shopping so shoppers can make informed decisions quickly and easily. The iuzeit site does this by offering product information from the three most trusted purchase influencers: experts, consumer peers and personal contacts.
The site connects online shoppers across social media channels, enabling consumers to gain valuable insight about products through their own personal networks. This information from personal contacts augments the information that iuzeit aggregates from both experts (e.g. product review articles) and consumer peers (e.g. reviews on sites like Amazon.com).

How iuzeit works:

1. Search for a product (initial categories will include consumer electronics, baby products, consumer healthcare products and beauty products) on iuzeit.com or on the iuzeit mobile app;
2. See what others say about the product and compare information across retailers, review sites, your social network and more;
3. Select the product and find the best price—then share the experience with other users on iuzeit.

iuzeit has a number of beta testers involved; however, additional testers can sign up to review phones, computers and other electronics in the beta period. With the beta launch, iuzeit began its second seed-funding round, which it hopes to close in early 2016. The company raised $150,000 in its first round.
