Versature to Power the Annual Sandra Schmirler Telethon Foundation for the Sixth Consecutive Year

Versature, the Canadian leader in Unified Communications as Service, will for the sixth year donate its phone hardware and services to power the Annual Sandra Schmirler Foundation Telethon. The event will broadcast live on TSN all day on February 17, 2019.

The Sandra Schmirler Foundation, named after curling champion and Olympic gold medalist Sandra Schmirler, works to raise funds to purchase life-saving equipment for premature and critically ill newborns and to provide scholarships to junior curlers, giving each the chance to grow up to become a champion, like Sandra.

Versature, a Canadian leader in delivering SaaS-based business VoIP communication and call analytics solutions, is supporting the Sandra Schmirler Foundation telethon by donating all telethon phone hardware and service throughout the day. A team of Versature employees will fly to Sydney, Nova Scotia, in advance of the telethon to set up hardware and wallboards on-site and to provide full support and service throughout the live telethon.

Nearly 30 million sick and premature newborns around the world are in dire need of treatment every year. The Sandra Schmirler Foundation actively works to support Hospital Foundations across Canada to purchase equipment essential to the care of premature and critically ill babies. Through the generous donations of callers throughout the Telethon, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation has been able to provide hospitals in every province, Yukon and the Northwest Territories with grants for the purchase of life-saving equipment for their Newborn Intensive Care Units (NICUs).

“We are very grateful for our long-standing partners who are such an integral part of our success. This couldn’t happen without the collaboration and long-time support of Curling Canada, and we are indebted to the team at Versature who are there with us every step of the way. They provide all of the phones and their considerable talent in ensuring every call is personally answered when people from right across Canada call in their donations,” said Brad Sylvester, Board Chair of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation. “We’re all working together towards a shared vision of helping save the lives of babies born premature and critically ill.”

“Versature is proud to be a continued supporter of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation,” said Versature COO, Jonathon Moody. “It is organizations like this that make a huge impact on our communities, and we are delighted to contribute to the annual telethon by donating all phone hardware and service for the event.”
